Top Takeaways from ALL IN AI Conference 2024

The second edition of ALL IN, Canada’s leading AI event, concluded last week in Montreal, marking a significant milestone in the journey of innovation and collaboration within the AI industry. This year’s edition set new records, with more than 4,000 attendees from over 40 countries—double the number from last year—including France, Japan, the United States, Brazil, and the United Kingdom.

Larus Technologies was excited to have several team members attend the ALL IN event, celebrating the forefront of Canadian AI innovation. The event offered a valuable platform for the Larus team to discuss how our AI and ML solutions are driving success across a range of industries. It also highlighted the importance of global collaboration and ethical commercialization, as we work towards fostering international partnerships that promote the widespread adoption of AI to enhance productivity and efficiency.

At ALL IN, Larus joined over 1,360 companies in attendance. Our team participated in numerous bilateral discussions, investor meetings, and roundtable meetings. ALL IN truly proved to be a melting pot of ideas and innovation, facilitating crucial dialogues on the future of Canadian and international AI.

Three notable takeaways from the conference included:

  • Many SMB companies struggle to find talented people and affordable GPU computing capacity. The government participants made encouraging statements about their programs to support Canadian businesses.
  • Promo optimization is one of Larus’ AI products. We have seen that AI is an excellent enabler of promo optimization for retail businesses and has helped large organizations build their own AI systems in-house.
  • The Business Development Bank of Canada’s comprehensive economic study on the AI imperative for Canada’s entrepreneurs showed that those who use AI report a reduction in operating costs and the need for additional hiring.

Scale AI, Canada’s global AI innovation cluster, showed additional support for the AI evolution in Canada. It announced an ambitious $5 million call for projects to support initiatives based on generative AI for the benefit of Canadian industries.

And governmental support also came from federal leadership as announced below:

“Our government supports AI as a channel for innovation, enabling companies to develop new products that better serve Canadians. This sector is expanding rapidly, and we are investing in exciting ventures to drive economic growth and increase productivity, all while opening up new opportunities for work in a variety of sectors that touch AI.”
The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry

The Larus Technologies team was pleased to participate at ALL IN and partake in insightful discussions to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing in this growing community. We look forward to more innovative solutions and concrete AI projects to forge partnerships that will flourish in an AI-driven economy.
