Rafael Falcon receives Mitacs & NRC-IRAP Award for Commercialization
OTTAWA, ON – On November 18, 2014 the 4th Annual Mitacs Awards Reception celebrated the contributions of five emerging researchers and two exceptional leaders in the academic and business communities who are participating in Mitacs programs aimed at fostering research and innovation in Canada.
Rafael Falcon received the Mitacs & NRC-IRAP Award for Commercialization for his research “in risk-driven coverage formation for environment monitoring in wireless sensor and robot networks”. This is part of the work Rafael did in developing the Risk Management Framework technology for Larus Technologies.
In this well-attended event, speakers included Hon. Kerry-Lynne Findlay, Minister of National Revenue, Hon. Bal Gasol, Minister of State for Sport, Hon. Chris Alexander, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, Pam Bjornson, Executive Vice Present of the National Research Council, and Hon. Ed Holder, Minister of State for Science and Technology.
