An extensive background in public and private security projects has made Larus a specialist in high reliability, real-time systems with adherence to standards and quality. Larus brings a professional understanding to a project’s life cycle with experience in requirements specification, design documentation, implementation and validation.

Larus Technologies has significant expertise and operational experience in the development of advanced systems for multi-sensor data collection, aggregation, display, exploitation and fusion for defence applications.

C4ISR Expertise

Initially under contract to DRDC-Ottawa, Larus Technologies participated in the NATO led Coalition Aerial Surveillance and Reconnaissance (CAESAR) project and its follow on: Multi-sensor Aerospace-ground Joint ISR Interoperability Coalition (MAJIIC) and developed the Canadian Reconnaissance Operational Workstation and Exploitation (CROWE) software system and a prototype Coalition Shared Dataserver (CSD).

Currently, Larus is working with the Canadian Forces, LFISTAR project, to further develop the Canadian net-centric capability of task, process, exploit and disseminate (TPED), through the continued development and enhancement of the Canadian CSD, its interfaces and algorithms, allowing Canadian ISR systems to seamlessly post, search, acquire and disseminate ISR products nationally and international partner through their STANAG 4559 compliant systems.

Larus is also developing the Coalition Shared Data server (CSD) and the necessary client interfaces to allow ISTAR systems to seamlessly post, search and acquire ISR products through not only the Canadian CSD, but other STANAG 4559 compliant database systems and the US Coalition Airborne Repository (CAR) as well.

Relevant Projects:

  • Macro-Fusion and Predictive Modeling Feasibility Study. Produced techniques that allow for the macro-fusion of multi-type multi-source data
  • Sensor Exploitation and Data Collection. Prime Developer CROWE exploitation system and data collector. Interoperable with MAJIIC STANAG 4607. Interface to LFISTAR C2IEDM system
  • ISR Simulation and Performance Study. Contracted to DRDC Ottawa to perform model simulation and performance study of HSFWR surveillance sensor augmented with airborne and space based sensors
  • Member NATO Coalition MAJIIC Working Group. Member of MAJIIC Technical Working Group developing standards and implementation methods for the MAJIIC coalition project
