Software Engineering

Since 1995, Larus has offered custom software engineering to public, para-public and private sector clients, primarily for defense, surveillance and security areas. Through these consulting contracts, Larus has developed unique technical expertise and an excellent reputation with clients and technology partners. Larus works cooperatively with University of Ottawa Faculty of Engineering and SITE on many projects and is committed to development of engineering students, providing part-time employment to university and co-op students.



Consulting Services

Larus Technologies is successful in leveraging its software engineering and corporate network to match client requirements with qualified, technical resources. Together with Hays Specialist Recruitment, Larus Technologies has formed a teaming partnership designed to better serve our clients using Temporary Help Services Contracting. The THS partnership leverages our combined knowledge and success in matching urgent client staffing needs with qualified, available resources. R&D

Larus' strategic plan focuses on continuing profitable growth in the software engineering and consulting services areas and transforming current R&D research into commercial products. Larus Technologies' track record in product development includes:

  • A windows based robot control interface used in the Terra Aerospace Predator and the Vanguard Mk I EOD robots,

  • An antenna test acquisition and analysis software system developed with the Canadian Space Agency and the international satellite services provider INMARSAT , and


  • A sensor exploitation system being developed for the Canadian Department of National Defence.
Through our professional experience and past and current projects, Larus Technologies has been investigating the concepts of integrated sensor data collection and the intelligence able to be provided through data and sensor fusion abilities. Currently working with the University of Ottawa, Larus Technologies is pursuing the further development and commercialization of these concepts.
