Dr. Rami Abielmona - 2011 Ottawa Business Journal Forty Under 40 Award Recipient

 

 

May 2011 -- Dr. Rami Abielmona, VP Research and Engineering, Larus Technologies is one of the recipients of the prestigious 2011 Ottawa Business Journal Forty Under 40 Award. Rami's nomination was supported by Larus Technologies and submitted by Larus' Corporate Lawyer, Anna Tosto of Fasken Martineau.

 

In this very competitive process, the judges received a record number of nominations this year- more than 175 people registered on the Forty Under 40 nomination website. All nominations were assessed according to a 40-point system: 20 points for business achievement, 10 points for expertise and 10 points for community involvement.

 

This is a wonderful honour for Rami and for Larus Technologies! We would like thank Anna Tosto for submitting Rami's nomination to this prestigious award.

January 01, 2011 -- Dr. Rami Abielmona, VP Research & Engineering at Larus Technologies, has been elected to the position of Vice-Chair at the IEEE Ottawa Section for 2011, and appointed to the position of Chair at the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Industry Liaison Sub-Committee for 2011.

 

January 01, 2011 -- Dr. Moufid Harb, Research Scientist at Larus, has been acclaimed to the position of Chair at the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Ottawa Chapter for 2011, and has been appointed to the position of Chair at the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Webinars Sub-Committee for 2011.

Canadian Tracking and Fusion Group

March 9-11, 2011 -- Larus Technologies sponsors first Canadian Tracking and Fusion Group (CTFG) Workshop in Ottawa, Canada.

 

March 10, 2011 -- On Day 2 of the CTFG Workshop 2011, Dr. Rami Abielmona, VP Research & Engineering, presented a talk entitled "Intelligent Territorial Security Using Sensor Networking and Data Fusion" and sat on the panel discussing fusion challenges and future direction.

 

 

March 11, 2011 --  On Day 3 of the CTFG Workshop 2011, Larus demonstrated the Nexus Fusion Engine as it is applied to maritime surveillance.

IEEE 8th Annual Ottawa Robotics Competition

May 29, 2010 -- Larus Technologies proudly supports the IEEE 8th Annual Ottawa Robotics Competition, as the program event Gold Sponsor. The Competition aims at bringing engineering awareness to students in grades 7 and 8 by presenting a fun and instructive approach to problem solving.
