George Di Nardo, President
Mr. George Di Nardo is the President of Larus Technologies and has been responsible for leading the software engineering and product development projects since the founding of Larus Technologies in 1995.
Mr. Di Nardo has over twenty five years of experience in software engineering and development focused primarily in the space, defence and security sectors. He combines the ability to develop comprehensive scientific and engineering solutions with a solid understanding of the software development life cycle.
He has been involved in the development of several real-time and embedded software and engineering applications for various clients including the DRDC-Ottawa, Canadian Space Agency, Communications Research Centre and Terra Aerospace Corporation.
Mr. Di Nardo was the chief designer and project lead for the development and implementation of the Larus C4 Operator Control Unit product. The Larus OCU was one of the first robot control system to provide robot control over an Ethernet based communication medium. The software application has been used in the EOD Performance Vanguard 1 robot. Mr. Di Nardo was also the chief architect for the AESA software, currently under license to Inmarsat PLC.
Mr. Di Nardo was the senior project engineer at DRDC-Ottawa, leading a software team in developing and maintaining the DRDC SIMLAB simulation software, the CROWE exploitation software system and providing supporting to the NATO CAESAR and MAJIIC projects.
Mr. Di Nardo continues to provide expertise and leadership in the defence and military sector through his participation as a member of the NATO MAJIIC Technical Working Group and is a Canadian member of the Custodial Support Team (CST) for STANAG 4545, 4559 and 4607, and is regarded a leading expert in the use and implementation of STANAG 4607, the Ground Moving Target Indicator.
Dr. Rami Abielmona, Vice-President Research and Engineering
Dr. Rami Abielmona is the Vice-President of Research & Engineering at Larus Technologies Corporation, and is responsible for all research and development of software, hardware, and products, as well as the management and direction of the research team. Dr. Abielmona joined Larus in 2007 to lead the integration of software engineering corporate knowledge with research in sensor networking, multi-sensor data fusion and computationally intelligent computing architectures, resulting in the innovative Nexus and LISA product lines.
Dr. Abielmona received his B.A.Sc., M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in computer and electrical engineering, from the School of Information Technology and Engineering at the University of Ottawa, where he currently serves as an Adjunct Professor. He was a CMC Success Story in 2005 for his Ph.D. research. He received the NSERC Industrial Research and Development Fellowship (IR&DF) in 2007 and the IEEE MGA Achievement Award in 2008.
He is currently the Chair of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Chapters Sub-Committee, the Chair of the local IEEE Computer Society chapter and the Treasurer the IEEE Ottawa Section. He also became a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario in 2008.
Gail Di Cintio, Vice-President Operations
Gail Di Cintio is Vice-President Operations at Larus Technologies, and is responsible for finance and human resources operations. Ms. Di Cintio is an established executive with progressive consulting and operational leadership career growth including, VP Human Resource Development at Fujitsu, with global responsibilities for Career Development, Retention and Succession Planning Programs and as a Management and Technology consultant with Fujitsu and Deloitte Consulting, working with a variety of private, para-public and public sector clients.
She has a record of successfully implementing corporate strategic programs blending corporate cultural goals and market trends. She is known for her ability to review operational issues or board objectives, propose implementable solutions; identifying opportunities, evaluating risk vs. return and initiating new corporate programs and lines of business to deliver positive results.
Ms. Di Cintio is experienced in the conduct of business at the board level both as a corporate contributor and Board Director. She has been involved as a Board Director with Alterna Savings and Alterna Bank from 2003-2008. Ms. Di Cintio was a Board Member with the Ottawa Hospital from 1995-2001
Ms. Di Cintio is a Certified Management Consultant and is a session instructor for the Management Development Program for Women at Carleton University since 1999.
Also, Ms. Di Cintio has participated in the annual Ottawa YWCA Women of Distinction Award since 2000, and is the Chair for the Spring 2011 event.
